Adam Hopkins
Some comedians learn the craft in dimly lit basement rooms. Adam Hopkins? He started slinging jokes in Shanghai, performing in Mandarin to crowds who didn't speak his mother tongue—and absolutely smashed it. Originally from Leeds and now terrorising London stages, this is a comic who's headlined across Asia, tackled stages from Tokyo to Guatemala City, and somehow still found time to write for BBC Radio 4, VICE, and The Guardian between flights.
His full comedy special Taipei is proof he knows how to command a room, and his current work-in-progress Sorry, What?—about growing up with a deaf brother—has been tearing the house down at clubs across the capital. A BBC New Comedy Award nominee, Leicester Comedy Festival Circuit Breaker, and 2025 Chortle Hotshot, Adam's also won Reading Indie Comedy Festival's New Comedian of the Year and opened for Kyle Kinane's UK tour. His writing's graced everything from Time Out to SPORTbible, because apparently one creative outlet just isn't enough.
A favourite on the Comedy Boat since 2024, Adam brings a laid-back confidence that belies razor-sharp timing. Whether he's dissecting cultural chaos or mining his international misadventures, he delivers relatable wit with a globe-trotter's edge. Catch him before he buggers off to Bangkok again.
