Kuan-Wen Huang
Picture this: a Chartered Accountant by day who moonlights as a force of nature on stage—Kuan-wen Huang is the Taiwanese comedian who proves that number-crunching and belly laughs aren't mutually exclusive. This multilingual marvel performs in English, German, and Mandarin (and he's fluent in French, just to show off), bringing his unique perspective on identity, queerness, and life to comedy clubs across the UK and beyond.
Since bursting onto the scene, Kuan-wen has racked up an impressive CV: his debut solo show 'Ilha Formosa' transferred to a sold-out Soho Theatre run and toured Europe, one of his gags earned a spot in The Guardian's Top 10 Jokes of the Fringe, and he's appeared on Comedy Central at the Edinburgh Fringe (2020) and Comedy Central Live (2022 and 2023). He's also graced BBC Radio 4's Fresh From the Fringe and Channel 4's 'Jokes Only An Immigrant Can Tell', proving his comedy translates across every medium.
A Leicester Comedy Festival Best Show nominee, Sean Lock Award finalist, and runner-up in the Frog and Bucket World Series, Kuan-wen is quickly becoming a favourite on the Comedy Boat, delighting audiences with his sharp wit and irresistible charm since joining the Rum Monkey family.
