Matt Rouse

Picture this: a sharp-witted comic who can make a packed room hang on every word with his laid-back delivery before demolishing them with perfectly crafted punchlines that leave audiences gasping for air. Matt Rouse started his comedy journey in 2018 and immediately proved he wasn't messing about, scooping the Hastings Fringe New Act Competition in 2022 and earning a BBC New Comedy Awards nomination the same year. Before that, he'd been a semi-finalist in So You Think You're Funny? in 2019 and a finalist in Brighton Grin in 2021, building serious momentum on the circuit. The rising star caught Channel 4's attention and performed stand-up on the BAFTA-winning The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan in 2023, showing the telly execs what London's comedy circuit already knew. His smart, alternative observational humour comes wrapped in what Chortle described as a "solid attitude he skilfully exploits"—infectious charm meets razor-sharp wit. A favourite on the Comedy Boat since 2024, Matt's been making waves across the UK's finest clubs with his fresh viewpoint and cleverly packaged material. Whether he's dissecting modern life, unpacking relatable scenarios, or finding comedy gold in everyday absurdities, this is a major new talent who knows exactly how to work a room and leave them wanting more.
