Radu Isac
Dark humour with a sugar coating—that's what you get when Radu Isac steps on stage. This Romanian comedian brings venomous wit wrapped in glittery charm, making audiences laugh when they know they probably shouldn't. Since starting his stand-up journey in Bucharest in 2006, Radu earned the title of Romania's "comedians' comedian" before taking the brave leap to London in 2015, where he had to start all over again on the open mic circuit.
But this is a comedian who knows how to rise. Within two years of arriving in the UK, Radu became a finalist in the English Comedian of the Year competition in 2017, proving his intelligently subversive comedy translates brilliantly across borders. He's taken solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe multiple times, including "Good Excuses for Sociopaths" and "Pandemic," and released his comedy special "Keep Coughing" which found hilarity in one of humanity's strangest moments. He's appeared on BBC, Channel 4, and Comedy Central, and even opened for comedy heavyweights like Louis CK and Jim Gaffigan.
A favourite on the Comedy Boat since 2024, Radu co-founded the East European Comedy Festival in 2018, championing immigrant voices in the UK scene. With his playful, idiosyncratic style—described by Chortle as "simultaneously sweet and dark"—Radu Isac delivers comedy that's delightfully uncomfortable in all the right ways.
